100 Days To Offload

So this is, as they say, it. I've written 100 articles in just inside a year. I can't say that my skills have improved but I have gotten quite a lot of practice. Far too much practice, probably more than AP English, but at least I get to pick the topic and don't have red ink bleeding all over my efforts.

It hasn't always been enjoyable and the varying quality shows. The deadline has caused me to force out quite a few things that I otherwise would not consider putting on a page, generally regarding the football pool and ice cream. There is a stark difference between things I wanted to write and things I had to write. Writing itself I have no issue with, but you won't see me turning into a journalist anytime soon. If I want to write something, I'll go on a right tear, but that's far less often than 100 times in a year.

I foresee me continuing to write, but not nearly at the same pace as I am now. There's no way I'm doing #100DaysToOffload again either. If I put myself through this again, I will burn out, start to hate writing, and never do it again. I don't want that to happen, so better to slow it down and not put a deadline on myself so I can continue to write whenever I choose to do so. I don't wish to bury the rare pearl in oceans of dog dirt.
